In this special event, artists Eliza Kesuma and Basia Mindewicz unveil commissioned works, installed in St Margaret's House, the Edinburgh-based art centre in which they both hold studios.
In celebration of the thriving creative community based in St Margret’s House, designer Eliza Kesuma has been commissioned to create a fresh space that reflects the depth and diversity of the businesses, groups, and organisations that are based in the building.
Basia Mindewicz has been commissioned to make an icon of St Margaret, the legendary Scottish figure. After extensive research involving her personal history, as well as images of the site and its surrounding area, Mindewicz has created a series of images depicting St Margaret’s life.
The works will be unveiled in a special event on Friday 27 March, from 6pm, in the lobby of the art centre bearing the saint’s name. Edinburgh Palette, the charity that governs St Margaret’s House, wanted to honour the legend of St Margaret and her associations with the grounds.
