Launched in 2013, TradFest is Edinburgh’s main multi-arts festival dedicated to Scottish culture, traditional, Gaelic and folk arts.
The annual festival brings together Scottish and international artists for a fortnight of live music, spoken word events, storytelling, ceilidhs, and exhibitions.
Many of the artists appearing have roots in the traditional, but at the same time incorporate contemporary influences in their work, groups such as 2024 Tradfest openers Valtos and Herbridean vocalist Julie Fowlis, who will appear in the 2024 closing concert.
Tradfest kicks off around the same time as the ancient neo-pagan/Celtic celebration of Beltane Fire Festival on May Day.
Tradfest also hosts a regular podcast via its website.
