Edinvegas doesn't work as well as Glasvegas, but Abbi Roberts got her show underway recalling her time visiting Caesar's Palace, with impressions of Bette Midler, Cher, Tina Turner and a couple I could not name.
She included Julie Andrews ('cause she can). Her take on President Obama's inauguration was very funny, especially the enhanced role she envisaged for Aretha Franklin.
Her piece on Chicago was great, demonstrating her 'athleticism'. Her most caustic comments are reserved for home grown acts such as Duffy, Kathryn Jenkins and the products of reality shows such as Leona Lewis, Alexandra Burke and our very own Susan Boyle.
She also gets into female angst with her number that every girl needs a gay best friend.
Abbi, and her audience, coped well with the sauna that was Underbelly. By the 30th of August audiences will be seeing less of her! It's well worth the walk up from the Cowgate to see this show.
