The Edinburgh International Children's Festival is cancelled in 2020 due to Co-vid19 restrictions.

Touring children's theatre festival, taking place each summer, with around 15 or so productions in various venues across the city. Imaginate brings together shows by top international performers as well as Scottish theatre companies, for an audience that ranges in age from babies to 16-year-olds.

The Imaginate Family Fringe holds free family events in the Traverse Cafe/bar on the Saturday and Sunday.

Imaginate claims to be "the largest and most successful performing arts festival for children and young people in the UK" and certainly the quality of local and international performers has often been impressive in the past.

The last weekend features the free, Imaginate Festival Fringe at the Traverse with "things to make, interesting characters to meet and small performances to watch all from some of Scotland's most exciting artists."

The Festival goes on tour following the Edinburgh run, with shows performed in community venues and schools as part of our Wee Night Out Programme.
