The former casino, which was originally built as a dancehall in 1918, offers ballroom style in its main room and a more intimate, low-ceiling vibe in its second room underneath.
Under its former banner as Ego, the venue hosted the free Edinburgh comedy festival and was a popular nightclub venue from the late Nineties.
On 10th July 2008, the venue opened up as Luna, a multipurpose events venue, with everything from club nights and live music, to burlesque events and pole-dancing lessons.
About 400 revellers celebrating Hogmanay 2008/2009 had to be evacuated around when New Year fireworks set fire to plastic netting stretched across the ceiling on the ground floor. No serious injuries were reported.
