A gothic, theatrical Burns Night, with a live ceilidh, in aid of the Grassmarket Community Project and the Sustainable Communities Development Project.
'This is a piece which both humbles and humanises the bard, whilst being a thorough celebration of his work' - Nadia Mehdi, Arts Show Edinburgh University Radio
'You've never seen a Burns Night like this before' - John Rafferty, SCDP youth project tutor
A Burns Supper dinner play which brings the late 18th and early 19th century back to life, and into confrontation. The piece questions and explores the myth of the Bard and his life by allowing characters from his biography to represent him in his absence. Who will give the 'Immortal Memory'? Expect a thought provoking night full of music and humour!
During the catered performances the audience will be served a three course meal produced in the style of the period, featuring haggis by the award winning producer Lindsey Grieve.
The piece is being produced to raise money for both the Grassmarket Community Project in Edinburgh and the Sustainable Communities Development Project (SCDP) which is currently working in the Borders town of Hawick.
