Over the past 10 years the Hummingbird Ball has become a key date in Edinburgh’s social scene and fundraising from previous events have raised over £180,000 for Diabetes UK’s research programmes. This year’s event, in Edinburgh’s Sheraton Grand Hotel, will see the opulence of the Venetian Carnival recreated in Edinburgh with guests encouraged to wear their masks with the very best of sparking ball outfits.
Martin Maxwell the treasurer of the Hummingbird Ball Committee: “This year we are celebrating our 10th anniversary. We wanted to mark this special occasion by making the Ball more special than ever. The night will be true night to remember and a glamorous occasion for all.
Jane-Claire Judson, Director of Diabetes UK Scotland said, “The Edinburgh Hummingbird Ball has proved to be a key date in our calendar. It is a tremendously important event for us, not only are funds raised to help deliver vital research projects but it is always encouraging to see the support guests give to Diabetes UK Scotland.
