A new, 3-day music festival, organised by DF Concerts, that will feature big name bands as well as home-grown talent. Connect had its inaugural Edinburgh launch in 2022 and is expected to expand capacity on its first year from 15,000 to 25,000 when it returns to the Royal Highland Centre in 2023.
Responding to popular demand, the RHS will have an enlarged camp site space at the 110-acre site and more family-friendly features like a family viewing area at the main stage and kids' entertainment.
The arena in the showgrounds of the Royal Highland Centre will also include comedy, spoken word, debate, visual arts, and food and drink from top Scottish chefs.
Camper's "ecobond"
Camping will feature both general, "boutique" camping (pre-pitched tents, bell tents, etc.), and RVs with up to 8 campers able to buy tickets together. Campers will be able to bring their own camping equipment in 2023.
In keeping with Connect's sustainability ethos, campers pay an ecobond for their pitch, which is refundable on returning their pitch in a clean state.
Background
The Connect Music Festival was originally held at Inverary Castle in 2007 and 2008. However, it did not return in later years, after the financial crisis of 2008 struck. Connect returned to Edinburgh in 2022 for the first time in 14 years.
