When you step off the train at Waverley, it is into a setting that has changed very little over the centuries. With the ancient and towering facades, Edinburgh remains not just a pretty face, but proudly wears its Enlightenment credentials on its sleeve.

As you walk around the historic Edinburgh Old Town and New Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site, it often seems like you are stepping through the history of not just a city and its people but capturing glimpses into the formation of the Western  world.
