Building on the success of the podcast and TV show, the live version of Uncanny takes its trademark dive into the paranormal and spectacularly takes the storytelling to the next level. The packed theatre shows the power that Danny Robins has in making the otherworldly engaging and fun. Exploring spooky stories of the paranormal using a spectacular range of new stories, special effects, and great humour, this is a fast-paced, entertaining night out. Whether you are Team Believer or Team Sceptic or somewhere in between, you will enjoy this show with its delightfully unsettling tales, true stories and audience interaction, all wrapped up in amazing illusions and special effects which perfectly enhance the stories.

Joining Robins on stage are Dr Ciarán O’Keeffe as head of the sceptics and Evelyn Hollow balancing him out as the resident believer. The trio work well together to give us all sides of what the possible reasons for the phenomena in the show could be, covering ghosts, mysterious creatures, UFOs and poltergeists: there is something for everyone. Each is an expert with fascinating takes on the unexplained - there is so much more to learn about the uncanny than you might realise. Complemented by sound and special effects that will make you jump and gasp at all the right places, there is just enough in this to keep you on the edge of your seat and still let you sleep when you get home… maybe.

The intros to the stories are perfectly pitched with Danny Robins’ tongue-in-cheek presentation working to its advantage as set-ups for the six different areas of the paranormal. When he gets to the heart of each story however, his investigation of what may have happened draws us in. The new stories sent in by real people show how we are still fascinated by what we do not understand; that there may still be things in the universe that cannot be explained. There are some Scotland-based stories, bringing the stories even closer to home. Even spookier however, are the audience’s own stories of their experiences which have elements that make the hair on the back of your neck stand up. Will you still be a sceptic or believer by the end of the show? Well, that is up to you, but at the very least you will be entertained, fascinated and learn just how much there is to explore in the field of the paranormal. It is a wonderful night out that is delightfully spinechilling for all the right reasons – catch it on tour while you can.
