Each year, over 1,000 cyclists pedal for leprosy charity LEPRA in the annual 67 mile bike ride from Inverleith Park's West Gate in Edinburgh to St Andrews in Fife. This year is the 36th Edinburgh to St Andrews cycle ride.
You don't have to stick to conventional bikes. All ages and levels of fitness are welcome. It is a ride not a race. And riders are supported by repair vans for that unexpected puncture!
The ride leaves Inverleith Park at 9.00am in the morning and follows a well-planned route to the Forth Road Bridge. The route then takes cyclists over the Cleish Hills and through some of the loveliest countryside that Fife has to offer, all the way to the historic university town of St Andrews and "the home of golf".
At the highest and often the hottest point an ice cream van awaits you. Home cooked lunches and afternoon teas are available along the way and there's lots of friendly encouragement and support.
When you arrive in St Andrew's no need to contemplate the return ride, vans transport the bikes and buses take cyclists back to Edinburgh.
Registration £10 (£5) til 10th June
Bus from St. Andrews £15 return for you and bike, departing Saturday evening
