The 17th annual Colony of Artists returns over the mid-September weekend in the Victorian Colonies of Abbeyhill.
With 75 artists exhibiting in their own homes and gardens it's a great way to meet local Edinburgh artists. Exhibitors will have paintings, prints, pottery, jewellery, cupcakes, and even tarot readings.
As well as the exhibitions, the Colony Hive will be have food, drink (Campervan Brewery will be serving cold ones), acoustic music, and art, of course. The Hive is at Holland House, at the end of Rossie Place open from 11am to 6pm daily.
The Street Art Mural Trail for 2022 has had an additional five new murals painted for 2022 by the event's street art collective The Murally People. On Sunday, there's a free Abbeyhill Mural and local history walking tour.
The festival's aims are to promote artists’ work, to bring the local residents together, to nurture the community ethos and to care for the long artistic heritage of the area.
