Bands urged to send demos, YouTube footage and facebook links to the Young Promoters as they search for a great new act.
The Young Promoters are back and offering bands the chance to support Edinburgh’s home grown rising stars JAKIL at the Usher Hall on 28 May 2011. They’re looking for new talent and will be hosting two ‘Battle of the Band’ competitions early next year, from which TWO bands will be chosen to fill the remaining support slots for the main event.
This is a great opportunity for any aspiring young musicians to get the chance to perform at one of the world’s most celebrated concert halls and to support one of Edinburgh's most up and coming unsigned bands.
Forth One to Watch winners JAKIL, having recently moved their musical career to London, having been together since their early teens. They have earned themselves a devoted fan base and providing support for acts such as Wheatus, Sandi Thom and Boy Kill Boy.
Hopefuls can enter by sending YouTube videos, myspace/facebook links and 100 words (roughly) on why they should win to: [email protected]. All the information can be found at www.facebook.com/youngpromoters.
Closing date for entries is Friday 31 December 2010. After this, 10 acts will be chosen to perform at one of our Battle of the Bands when they will be asked to prepare a set of three songs (which may include one cover), which you will perform in front of four industry professionals.
