The Edinburgh Festivals' Cavalcade, the annual parade down Princes Street of all the festivals, took place yesterday afternoon, Sunday 3rd August, and, although the weather threatened to make ther event as wet as it was last year, the rain managed to hold off to allow a large audience to watch in relative comfort.
It was good to see so many of the faithful participants returning again and they received good recognition from the commentators and the crowd. With so many spectators it was hard for some to get a good view unless you were fortunate enough to be in the front, but performers on their motorised floats were visible and gave those at the back something to look at.
As always the enormous enthusiasm of all those taking part in the parade made it a spectacular and enjoyable event - particularly for the many children who were brought along for the afternoon.
