Unite, the Union of BAA employees, has confirmed that it is calling off two further strikes at BAA airports, including Edinburgh and Glasgow. The Union had called a strike over changes to the company's pension scheme.
The 24 and 48 hour strikes had been planned for the 14 and 17 January respectively. The decision follows Unite's earlier announcement, at the beginning of this week, that it had called off its 7 January strike.
Virgin Atlantic strike
Some Virgin Atlantic passengers face travel disruption in a separate strike action over pay. Unite has called two 48-hour strikes for the 9 January and 16 January.
