Description
Around 50 teams will compete in the Leith Dragon Boat Challenge, what is a first for Edinburgh and Scotland's largest event of its kind. Originally planned for June, organisers of the event, Leith Rotary Club, hope to raise £100,000 for charity.
The long boats will compete over a 250 metre course at Leith Docks, next to Ocean Terminal. Each boat has 16 paddlers, a drummer, and a helm.
The Leith Dragon Boat Challenge takes place the day before the annual Dragon Boating Festival holiday in China.
