Art Fund, the national charity for art, will be welcoming Geoffrey Munn, known to many for his countless appearances on the BBC's Antiques Roadshow, to give a public lecture at St George's School.
He is a renowned jewellery specialist and former managing director of Wartski; jewellers by appointment to HM The Queen and HRH The Prince of Wales.
His lecture will take the form of a fascinating illustrated presentation on Fabergé at the Court of Edward VII and will unravel a dynastic web of European royal patronage that led the famous Russian goldsmith's work to be described as "the last flowering of court art"
All profits from the lecture will directly support Art Fund, who for over 100 years have supported museums and galleries, helping them to buy and display great works of art for everyone to enjoy.
Art Fund recently supported the acquisition of Salvador Dali's Lobster Telephone by the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art. The sculpture joins the gallery's extensive collection of Surrealist art, which includes paintings by René Magritte, Max Ernst and Leonora Carrington.
Drinks at 6pm, lecture at 7pm.
