Burns & Beyond, the mini arts fest celebrating the life and legacy of Robert Burns, will return this coming January with a series of concerts featuring Anna Meredith, Nadine Shah, and Callum Easter.
They are part of a programme of live music that will be held at the “Festival Club” in the Assembly Rooms during the course of the four-day festival (25th – 28th January).
Tickets vary from £20 to £25 and go on sale today (Tuesday 21 November) at 10.00am.
The festival will also include a ceilidh dance event at the National Museum of Scotland - “Museum Lates: Big Burns Ceilidh”. The Jacobites Ceilidh Band will be providing the tunes in the spacious setting of the Museum’s Grand Gallery.
Burns & Beyond includes music, family events, ceilidh dancing and Burns Night celebrations. While more events are expected to be announced, Leith songwriter Callum Easter will be presenting a TV Special involving “a dark and immersive kaleidoscope of sound and vision” on Burns Night itself (Thursday 25th January).
Music experimentalist Anna Meredith (see video) will be performing in her first live Edinburgh show since her sold-out show at the Edinburgh International Festival in 2021.
Mercury Prize nominee Nadine Shah will see the fest out on Sunday 28 January.
Burns & Beyond is organised by Unique Events, who are also one of the partner organisations running this year’s Hogmanay and Edinburgh’s Christmas.
Now in its sixth incarnation, the festival also features live music, poetry, dance and more in some of the capital’s best-known buildings and more secretive spaces.
