The Meadows Festival Edinburgh is an annual, free, community festival, that has been running since 1974, with sporting activities, local bands, stalls and family entertainment held on the large expanse of The Meadows by Melville Drive.
The Festival takes place on the first Saturday and Sunday of June.
The festival includes live performances on three stages, a market with stalls, a dog show (on Sunday), yoga and meditation, capoeira and drumming, kids activities, bars, and much more.
If the sun is out then this is a great place to spend the day.
The Meadows Festival has been running since the Seventies. After a break due the pandemic in 2020, the festival returned in 2022 on the East side of the Meadows - previous fests were held on the west side.
The Festival is free. You just turn up. Head to the Meadows and then toward the music.
Check the festival website for the programme announcements and music line-ups nearer the event weekend.
