After a roaring success last year, the Ants are back for even more
hilarious sketches and some good old-fashioned bloke humour.
Having watched the show before the Pleasance launch, I was truly amazed
at the reaction they received from the press; it was one of the loudest
welcomes that I had heard this year. For the show, we were packed into the
Pleasance Beside, a venue too small for the huge talents that we were about to
see.
Mixing what could be called "bloke humour" with just a little bit of camp,
they succeeded in getting everyone to laugh over and over again. But be warned, if you are not a fan of audience
participation ladies, don’t take the front row. Actually, please do, as I wish
that I could have been given the souvenir that Sarah got.
Their changes were slick, something which isn’t always possible when
you have more than one performer, they looked presentable, and their jokes hit
the mark every time.
My only problem, as I mentioned before, is
that the venue was much too small. But as they said themselves, maybe next year
they will see 100 people.
Idiots of Ants is definitely this year's
hottest ticket around, so make sure you catch it before it’s too late.
