Description

This year is turning into a celebration of creativity, diversity and mutual cultural understanding: Qatar UK 2013 has developed a varied and exciting programme to showcase the depth and breadth of relations between Qatar and the UK. On 14th June prominent British and Qatari composers will bring together their music at Edinburgh’s Usher Hall giving audiences the opportunity to enjoy a beautifully varied cultural evening. There will be several Scottish première performances, namely of the new works by Wael Binali, who was educated in Scotland, and David Heath.

The Royal Scottish National Orchestra will be joined by the Choir of St. Mary’s Cathedral, conductor Paul Goodwin, conductor/composer David C. Heath, composer Wael Binali, solo violoncellist Guy Johnston, solo pianist Amira Fouad, along with percussionist Gary Kettel.

The event will take place at Edinburgh’s Usher Hall on 14th June at 7:30pm, with a pre-concert talk at 6:45pm
