Fringe Sunday took place on the second Sunday of the Fringe. However, in 2009 and 2010, failure to get sponsorship for the event has meant that it has been cancelled.
What am I missing?
Fringe Sunday is an annual showcase of shows, put on by Fringe performers, for free. It's a great way of getting tasters from some of the hundreds of different shows at the Fringe over the course of six hours. If the weather is good, the event can attract up to a quarter of a million people.
Something similar
The closest thing to Fringe Sunday is the Edinburgh Festival Carnival, which in turn replaced the Edinburgh Festivals Cavalcade. The Calvalcade took in all the August festivals and the Edinburgh Military Tattoo, not just the Fringe. The Calvalcade also takes place in Holyrood Park, site of Fringe Sunday in years past.
