The Consulate General of Japan in Edinburgh together with the Japanese Studies department at the University of Edinburgh are delighted to welcome you to a free Japanese Film Festival at 50 George Square, University of Edinburgh.
Each Friday from the 30th of January to 20th February, we will be offering a free screening of a different contemporary Japanese film, accompanied by a short explanatory talk from a series of relevant speakers including members of the Japanese Department.
Please join us on Friday 13th February for our screening of 2011 film, Hankyu Railway: A 15-minute miracle
Directed by Yoshishige Miyake
At first glance, totally unconnected lives... but on the train, their paths intersect and emotions converge, spinning a miraculous story of love. Anything can happen, even on a 15 minute train ride...
Doors open at 6pm and the introductory talk and film will start at 6.30pm. Simple refreshments will be served after the screening.
This is a free event that is open to all. However, there is a seating limit in the venue, so we would be grateful if you could book your place in advance through EventBrite.
