A special one-off charity screening of Even the Rain (Tambien la Lluvia), a 2010 Spanish drama film starring Gael Garcia Bernal and Luis Tosar at SYHA Edinburgh Central, with a guest appearance by the film's award-winning screenwriter Paul Laverty.
As a director and his crew shoot a controversial film about Christopher Columbus in Cochabamba, Bolivia, local people rise up against plans to privatize the water supply.
All profits from this film screening will go to WaterAid UK, a charity whose mission is to transform lives by improving access to safe water, hygiene and sanitation in the world's poorest communities.
The admission price of £10 includes a glass of wine or juice, and additional drinks can be purchased at the cafe. Please book tickets online.
There will be a short introduction to the film by Angela Lafferty, a member of WaterAid's Edinburgh Local Group, and a Q&A session afterwards with Paul Laverty.
