The Cameo Cinema will be hosting a three-and-a-half hour live cinecast coverage of the Secret Policeman's Ball
on Saturday 4 October.

The show will take place at London's Royal Albert Hall and will
include Mitchell and Webb Shappi Khorsandi, Graham Norton, Russell
Howard, Frank Skinner and Alan Carr with more names to be announced in
the weeks ahead.

The Cameo cinema is just one of the 18 Picture House network of
cinemas screening the live event. A further 19 screens across the
United Kingdom, 56 in Canada and four in Australia will also take part.

John Cleese Cleese, who compered the first Secret Policeman's Ball
in 1976, will appear in special advertisements in the Channel 4
screening of the event on 5 October 9pm. The
success of that show spawned nine more over the next 20 years. This
year's ball, which will also be celebrating the 60th anniversary of the
Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Kate Allen, Director of Amnesty International UK, said:

"Amnesty International UK aims to get a million people standing up
for human rights, by providing simple ways for people to show their
support."

"When you laugh at a joke along with lots of other people you
realise that they feel the same way you do. When the jokes or the music
have a political message it can help people realise that many others
share their beliefs. This gives people the confidence to take action
and that is exactly what we want."

Price: £17.50, Concessions £14.50, Members £14.
