The Scotsman Hotel towers over North Bridge with views over Princes Street Gardens and offers a fine place to stay if exploring the Old Town. This red stone building was the editorial office and printing press of the famous daily Newspaper for several decades. The North Bridge Brasserie welcomes both hotel guests and non residents for Lunch and Dinner. Call in for breakfast, coffees and drinks too. The decorative setting is the former Reception hall where the public would visit to place advertisements, buy back copies of the newspaper and Christmas calendars. Today, this impressive marble and wood panelled space, with mezzanine level and ground floor seating, offers a lively cocktail bar and intimate restaurant. Head chef Paul Hart (formerly of the Old Course Hotel, St. Andrews), has brought his distinctive style of artistic, inventive modern Scottish cuisine.
