Cosy, Old Town café-bar with patio area on narrow pavement in front of the shop in Jeffrey Street. Modern loungey decor and interesting combination of pastries, food (good veggie options), cakes, hot drinks, and alcoholic beverages, especially whiskies (as you'd expect with a name like Hot Toddy).
Looks out to Calton Hill and the tall, needle-like Martyrs of Reform monument and the Old Calton Jail Governor's house, across the moat of Waverley Station.
Hot Toddy is just around the corner from the Market Street entrance of Waverley station and just off the Royal Mile. It doesn't suffer from crowding, but the narrowness of Jeffrey Street can make it a bottleneck for motor traffic.
During the Fringe, hosts a number of shows.
Open early at 9am til 1am.
