Edinburgh's Dogmanay takes place on the first day of each year at Holyrood Park. Edinburgh cannot rely on snow, so teams of Alaskan Malamute, Samoyed and
Siberian Huskies from all over Scotland pull custom-made three-wheeled
rigs around a set course. The rigs are essentially tricycles which are pushed rather than pedalled. The husky puppies are usually a big hit with
the crowds too. Races start at 1.30pm and the event is free and does not require tickets. More Hogmanay photos.
