A fun, 68-mile Edinburgh to St Andrews cycle ride for charity LEPRA takes place every June.
EG joins the ride right at the beginning as over 1,000 cyclists leave Inverleith Park in last year's event.
Shane, one of the bike ride's organising committee members, explains the origins of the 30-year-old ride, and shares some of the difficulties encountered with Lothian and Borders police when trying to put on a large cycle ride such as this.
The ride usually takes a day, leaving Edinburgh with police escort, and heading North across the Forth Bridge and into the pleasant rural roads of Fife.
Riders often stay the night in St Andrews, while there is transport option laid on for the return back to Edinburgh in the evening.
