Over 2000 audience members have already made the trip to Prestongrange to experience Dragons of Drummohr in its first two weeks, meaning a resounding success for site specific theatre makers Vision Mechanics’ first foray to East Lothian. With only one week left, will you help find the Red Dragon so the Laird of Drummohr can return to his big hoose? Hurry up, as tickets are selling fast, with nearly 3000 sold in total.
Building on 2015’s DragonQuest and last year's Dragon Matrix, Leith based Vision Mechanics moved to East Lothian, this year with a new augmented reality theatre adventure in the grand surroundings of Drummohr House near Musselburgh - Dragons of Drummohr. Supported by East Lothian Council, local school groups have added to the magic in creating huge Dragon Scarers that welcome visitors to the site.
Running until the 29th October, the adventure combines the worlds of gaming and storytelling to create something truly immersive. Rare and protected dragons have descended on the grounds of Drummohr House, and the Dragon Protection League need help in finding and protecting them. Using the DragonMatrix app, unseen magical creatures that have been drawn to the forest by the magical aura of the dragons are revealed alongside huge sculptures, light installations, and a wandering cast of fire tenders and troll hunters, making Dragons of Drummohr an incredible spectacle not to be missed.
Vision Mechanics director Symon Macintyre commented, "I am so delighted that all the hard work and effort it took to create Dragons of Drummohr has paid off. Now, we are getting excited about next year! We hope to create Quest for OZ, a journey of wizards, witches and flying monkeys… “
