The Edinburgh Graduate Theatre Group (“the Grads” or EGTG) has been putting on theatre productions in Edinburgh for over 60 years and has established its place as one of the city’s most respected amateur companies.
In May 2017, they plan to stage a production of adaptation of the 1950s’ Ealing film comedy, The Ladykillers by Graham Linehan, best known for penning the TV series Father Ted, Blackbooks and The IT Crowd.
Four women and five men with ability for additional non-speaking involvement are required and ages listed are the lower limits of playing ages. The characters to be played are as follows:
Female, age 60+ for Mrs. Louisa Wilberforce; Male, age 60+ for Major Courtney; Female, aged 50+ for Mrs. Jane Tromleyton Male, age 45+ for Louis Harvey; Male, age 35+ for Professor Marcus; Male, aged 25+ for One-Round; Male, aged 20+for Harry Robinson; Female, any age for Constable MacDonald; Newsreader / General Gordon (voice only) The Ladies Society Members - Any age and any gender.
Auditions will be held on Wednesday 4th January at 7:30pm and on Sunday 8th January at 2pm at 18 Buccleuch Place, 1st floor in the Graduate Association offices. Only one audition session needs to be attended and no preparation is needed. Rehearsals will begin on Sunday, 22nd January at 7:30pm and will be held on Tuesday and Sunday nights at the beginning of the rehearsal period moving to Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday nights from February 21st onwards.
All cast members are required to be members of the Grads for insurance purposes with membership fees at £25.
