Science. Fun. Two words that the Edinburgh International Science Festival strives to keep in close proximity when building its programme of events which start at the end of this month.
Family-friendly science themed events will be going on over the Easter hols at the Scottish Storytelling Centre, National Museum of Scotland, and at the Science on A Plate Festival at the Royal Botanic Garden.
But science-fun central will be the City Art Centre, where experts will be leading budding boffins from ages 2 to 12 in scientific endeavours involving electric circuits, skeletons, racing robots, and manic monsters.
Among the activities visitors will discover over the 6 floors are Bubbleologists offering instructions on making a round bubble square, a dress-up safari, Egyptian Mummy unwrapping, and the ever popular Blood Bar where kids can make their own scabs.
New activities for this year include Visual-Eyes, supported by Optos, where children can peek inside a giant eye, find out how lenses work and even watch the dissection of an eyeball.
