The Edinburgh International Film Audiences Conference (EIFAC) is a small, bi-annual conference, which takes place at the Filmhouse between March 26th and 27th 2009, looks at a wide range of cinematic
audiences from contemporary Taipai to popular Scottish audiences in the
years 1896-1939, from babies to baby boomers. The talks lined up focus
on individual films (such as audiences responses to Kubrick's Space
2001 in the late Sixties) and whole film festivals (the activist
audiences of Women Make Movies Film Festival).
The opening speaker is Ian Christie, from the School of Art, Film and Visual Media, Birkbeck, University of London.
Plenary speakers include:
- Professor Martin Barker, Professor of Film and Television Studies, Aberystwyth University, co-editor of Particip@tions
- Dr. Emily Munro, Head of Learning, Glasgow Film Theatre
- Robin McPherson, Screen Academy, Napier University
The closing speaker is Dr Sean Perkins, Research Executive at the UK Film Council.
Early bird tickets
A pass for both days costs £160 (£85 for students) and a pass for
one day costs £85. There is an early bird discount of 10% if you order
before the end of November.
