Scottish
Brass will perform in St Mary’s Church, Haddington, on Saturday 16 May at 7.30
p.m.
A
recently formed ten-piece ensemble, Scottish Brass is a collective of young
Scottish-based freelance brass players from both classical and jazz
backgrounds. Included in their repertoire are imaginative arrangements of
symphonic and operatic works as well as original compositions, old and new,
creating a diverse and eclectic sound.
Scottish
Brass aims to promote brass chamber music of the highest quality for audiences
across Scotland and further afield. The ensemble considers it important to
bring new works to audiences young and old and consequently wish to encourage
new compositions for brass ensemble from contemporary composers.
The
programme will include works by Hazell, Bizet, Piazzolla and Gabrielli.
