'Flowers appear in the earth' - sacred songs of renewal and regeneration from medieval Europe. A sequence celebrating Easter and Spring including seasonal Gregorian Chant, polyphony from medieval Scotland and England, songs of pilgrimage from Spain and Italy, antiphons from Ireland and Scotland in praise of Celtic saints, and mystical visions of 'green-ness' from the extraordinary creative mind of St Hildegard of Bingen. Featuring the Scottish premiere in modern times of 'Bemery', a newly rediscovered Easter carol!
The winner of The Clarsach Society Young Composer Award 2017 will be announced, their piece performed and the prize presented.
