The Scottish Arts Club lounge was full to overflowing last night for the presentation ceremony and party for the inaugural Fringe Award for Scottish Drama.
After an introduction by the Club president, speeches were made by myself for EdinburghGuide.com and Ian MacKenzie for the Scottish Arts Club.
Catherine Robins, chair of the judges, introduced the other judges who gave their appreciation for each show in the short list category and the winner .
Astrid Silins covered Federer verses Murray. Joyce Caplan for Ten Plagues, and John Scott Moncrieff for a Thousand Cranes.
Then the writer Abigail Docherty was presented with the award by founder of The Traverse and living legend Jim Haines.
A great night was had by all who attended.
Any production with a Scottish director, writer, cast, or a Scottish based theatre company was eligible for the award. The five judges were Catherine Robins, Astrid Silins, Joyce Caplan, Rachael Clerke and John Scott Moncrieff.
