The Consulate General of Japan in Edinburgh will again be running the painting competition, ‘Picture Japan’.
‘Picture Japan’ was created to encourage Primary school-aged children to think about Japan and its culture, and help to strengthen the friendship and understanding between Scotland and Japan.
Participating children are requested to paint or draw a picture of something that interests them about Japan (anything from sushi, samurai and shrines to sumo wrestling! - Inspiration can be found on Kids Web Japan, a website sponsored by the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs to introduce Japanese culture and society to children:

Copies of the poster and competition details can also be sent to interested parties by post.
Entries should be submitted by 27th April 2015 to the address below:
