Established in 1876, the Fine Art Society is a commercial art gallery and broker based in a Georgian house in the New Town.
The large, street level windows allow for the display of current exhibition work to passers-by on Dundas Street making their way up the hill to George Street.
Inside the building there are galleries on two levels exhibiting Scottish and British art and design works from the 18th century to the post war period. Each gallery is airy and high ceilinged, as typified by New Town interiors.
The Fine Art Society also runs a framing and conservation studio from the premises.
The Dundas Street Gallery can be found in the basement level below the Edinburgh Art Society. There are a number of other commercial galleries in close vicinity.
