State Cinema

Disused 1,650 capacity cinema with stadium type auditorium in the heart of Leith. The venue opened in 1938 as a multi-use leisure centre and was home to shops, a bowling alley and billiard halls.

It housed a cinema til 1972, became a bingo hall and then in 2002 briefly became the home of Babylon nightclub after an expensive renovation, before closing around two years later.

A snooker hall operates upstairs and the venue is used by Kingdom Church.
