Daccordiana - a new Edinburgh based band - have just released their first EP called 'Prelude'. The four-piece band had their recent launch at Dougie Robertson's venue (his home) and was a huge success. All the songs are written and composed by Anna Ross.
A great songwriter - memorable lyrics inspired by events in her chequered, young life - with Daccordianna she has created a truly unusual, unique sound blending blues with a range of gypsy style music.
The line-up of the band is Anna Ross on piano, accordion and vocals; Francesca Cassis bass; Neil MacArthur guitar, banjo, violin, mandolin and William Molleson on drums.
Their next gig is at the Knockengorroch Festival in Castle Douglas on Sunday 29th May, and judging from the audience at the launch it should be a great event.
