Revellers going to Edinburgh’s Hogmanay events at the end of the month will be required to provide proof of a negative lateral flow test on the day of the event.

Hogmanay ticket-holders will be required to take the lateral flow test, register it on the NHS website, and bring proof of the NHS result.

Ticket holders for the Torchlight Procession will need to be able to provide proof of a negative lateral flow test, dated for the day of the event, when collecting torches from one of the three pick-up locations at Waverley Bridge, Bristo Square, and West Parliament Square.

Ticket holders to the Hogmanay street party on Princes Street, "Party at the Bells", will be checked for proof of a negative lateral flow test when entering an access point to the designated Hogmanay party arena.

Other Covid-19 requirements such as mask-wearing at concerts will also be required.

When collecting tickets at the Bristo Square box office, proof of a negative lateral flow test taken within 48 hours of the event or a vaccine passport will be required to receive tickets and wristbands.

Details of the restrictions for Hogmanay ticket-holders can be found on the Edinburgh’s Hogmanay website.

Underbelly Co-Directors, Charlie Wood and Ed Bartlam, said: “Underbelly continues to work daily with the Scottish Government and City of Edinburgh Council and agencies to deliver a safe and a great Hogmanay.

“With safety at the heart of everything we do, we have decided proactively to introduce additional measures that are designed to protect our audiences, artists and employees to keep them safe.

“We and all agencies are working hard to deliver the event and to welcome audiences to Princes Street, placing Scotland at the forefront of the world’s new year events.”
