A version of Cry Me A River sung by talent show contestant Susan Boyle has surfaced on the web. The over-night singing sensation from Blackburn, East Lothian, made the recording for a 1999 charity CD, Music For A Millennium Celebration, funded by Whitburn Community Council.
Only 1,000 copies were pressed, but the recording has started to go viral.
The unemployed, single 47-year-old, who says she's never been kissed, had a meteoric rise to fame after singing the Les Miserables song I Dreamed A Dream on the Saturday night show of Britain's Got Talent. Judges and audience smirked at each other over her frumpy appearance and talk of wanting to be a professional singer "like Elaine Page" but were bowled over when she started singing. One clip of her performance on YouTube has had over 20 million hits already.
