Boy Blue Entertainment, one of the UK's leading hip hop companies, will be auditioning local dancers to take part in their award-winning production Pied Piper when it appears at Edinburgh's Festival Theatre in March.
Auditions for 18 young dancers aged between 10 and 12 will be held at Dancebase on Sunday 8 February from 12pm to 4pm. Older dancers who appear between 10 and 12 years old will also be considered.
The show adapts Robert Browning's poem of The Pied Piper of Hamelin into a contemporary tale where the rats become ‘anti-social hoodies' and the town governors become fickle politicians
and smarmy spin doctors.
The production uses street dance and hip-hop tricks to tell the popular story, with the successful young dancers playing the Children of Hamelin.
Boy Blue was formed by Kenrick ‘H20' Sandy and Michael ‘Mickey J'Asante and the show won a prestigious Olivier award for best newcomer in 2007.
