Moody, indie rockers and recent winners of the NME Radar award Glasvegas will headline the Waverley Stage at Edinburgh's Hogmanay Street Party on 31st December. Glasvegas join Paolo Nutini as the latest acts to be confirmed for Edinburgh's Hogmanay celebrations.
Glasvegas's reputation has grown massively in the last year with hits Geraldine and Daddy's Gone and a headline tour of the USA. While the band's socially aware songs about youth violence and loss may not be obvious material for a New Year celebration, the band is not averse to lightening up - the band recorded a christmas album A Snowflake Fell (And It Felt Like A Kiss) in Tranyslvania which will be digitally released in December.
Glasvegas said: "We're looking forward to
closing an amazing roller coaster of a year when we headline the
Waverley Stage at Edinburgh's Hogmanay. The perfect way to toast the
coming year with family and friends celebrating Scottish style!"
