Over the next few months Summerhall will be playing host to various exhibitions detailed below.
Captured State: New Art from Macedonia
Captured State is the first significant exhibition of contemporary Macedonian art in the UK since the 1970s, bringing together six Skopje-born artists; Ephemerki, Verica Kovacevska, OPA (Obsessive Possessive Aggression), Igor Toshevski.
Through installation, video and performance these artists address some of the key questions concerning European artists in 2017.
On Saturday 11th November from 2pm - 3.30pm there will be a talk from curator Jon Blackwood will outline the main developments in contemporary art in Macedonia since c. 2006, followed by a guided tour of the exhibition.

Deerhart: Drawings and Poetry from Yvonne Reddick and Diana Zwibach.
The exhibition is the latest stage in the collaboration between artist Diana Zwibach and poet Yvonne Reddick. Combining drawing, painting and text, the exhibition is a voyage of discovery into wild nature and our own animal nature.

Jill Todd Photographic Award 2017
Initiated in 2011, The Jill Todd Photographic Award celebrates the life of Jill Todd, a promising young photographer whose life was cut short by cancer one year after graduating with a 1st Class Honours Degree in Photography and Film from Edinburgh Napier University. 2017 marks the 6th year of the Jill Todd Photographic Award.
The exhibition will exhibit three winners and a selection of commended works from the following

Exit From Coaltown - Michael Dawson
An exhibition of new and recent work by Edinburgh based artist, Michael Dawson,
2016 winner of the RSA Open Exhibition Award Summerhall Prize.
Dawson produces vibrant works on paper, wood, mdf and canvas in an expressionist style. Intense and energetic, rich in vivid colour and heavily covered in text, stencils and bursts of texture, the works are primarily concerned with a universal experience filtered through his life.
