Following a critically acclaimed run in Edinburgh, Red Bridge Arts, a company whose mission is to nourish creativity and encourage curiosity, and the Traverse Theatre Company take Black Beauty cantering onto stages around Scotland in early 2017.
Blending storytelling, music puppetry and comic brilliance, this vibrant re-telling of Black Beauty offers fun and adventure for fans of the book, classic TV show and those brand new to the tale that’s sure to lift your heart and bring more than a wee smile in the forthcoming chilly months.
Performed by two giants of children’s theatre, Andy Manley and Andy Cannon and with design by the ingenious award winning Shona Reppe, this delightful show was a huge hit with families of all ages during its Christmas run at the Traverse.
The Black Beauty tour runs from 27 January to 19 February and will be staged at 11 venues across the country (details below). Described by The Guardian as “a galloping, five-star triumph,” Black Beauty “deserves every overjoyed round of applause” (The Independent). The Scotsman described the show as “beautifully realised, and a stream of inventive genius that seems like the spirit of hope itself”.
Missing this real beauty of a show is a neigh brainer! Read my review.
