Dynamic Earth, the five-star visitor attraction nestled beneath Arthur’s Seat and the foot of the Royal Mile, with its strong commitment to outreach and learning across Scotland, has been announced as the new official host venue for this year’s Edinburgh Festival Fringe Schools Poster Competition supported by Virgin Money.
The stunning glass atrium where the free exhibition will take place offers a very special location to show more than double the number of posters in 2016 and will inspire a closer relationship between science and the arts.
Elizabeth Burchell, Head of Marketing and Sponsorship of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society said, “This is a fantastic new collaboration which enables us to exhibit more posters than ever before. We are looking forward to viewing all the wonderful and creative entries from Scotland’s budding young artists and can’t wait to display many of them in the impressive surroundings of Dynamic Earth. We’d like to thank the Museum of Childhood, which has been a wonderful home to the competition for a number of years now, for all their support over the years”
The winners will be announced at a ceremony on 24 May at Dynamic Earth where the Schools Poster Exhibition will run from 25 May 2016 to the 29 August 2016 featuring entries from all across Scotland including the winner, runners up, regional winners and shortlisted entries.
The closing date for the competition open to all five to 16-year-old pupils at schools in Scotland, is Friday 04 March 2016.
