Video clip
This is one of those "only in Edinburgh" moments. A brass band floats down the Union Canal in Edinburgh playing "Love Will Tear Us Apart" by Joy Division.
The Tullis Russell Mills Band was one of many brass bands taking part in today's Fanfare event organised by the Edinburgh International Festival. The video, shot by Jonathan Riddell, is quite noisy - it's citizen journalism after all - but it captures the scene nicely.
Brass bands played to the general public in various parks and locations across the city, from Balerno on the Southerly outskirts of Edinburgh to the Shore in Leith to the North of the city. Hats off to the bands that took part!
