House prices may be dropping throughout the most of the UK, but in Scotland prices still remain in positive territory, although slowing in pace, according to the monthly report by Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
"The volume of transactions through our private client arm has confounded press commentators and, dare we admit, logic. Prices have been demonstrably satisfactory rather than spectacular," Anthony Perriam, director of Residential Sales at Rettie & Co. in Edinburgh reported in October.
The report notes: "Surveyor confidence in the price outlook fell back into negative territory, as did surveyor confidence in the sales outlook." The survey sees Scottish house prices turning negative in the next 3 months.
