Theatre Anon take you by the hand and lead you through Hans Christian Andersen’s vibrant world in this enchanting adaptation of the fairytale.
They tell the story of a young boy and a young girl who are inseparable – until a shard of glass gets lodged in the young boy’s heart and he disappears into the realm of the Snow Queen.
The young girl must travel far and wide, meeting friends and foes along the way, if she is ever to see him again and bring him home.
Theatre Anon have a wonderful touch with this enchanting children’s performance. It is colourful and bright and full of life and each of the actors bring another level of delight to their young audience. With live music and singing along the way the story unfolds with shadow puppetry, giant flowers and multi coloured costumes.
The story is told by a narrator with the most wonderful facial expressions and picked up by the rest of the cast who play out scenes, often becoming several characters differentiated by the wonderful costumes. It is a delightful show for children, and even without children it is a truly enjoyable storytelling.
